Williamson County Marriage License Information

If a couple is applying for a marriage license in Williamson County both applicants
should come to the Justice Center located on the ground floor of the Williamson
County Justice Center at 405 MLK Street, Georgetown, TX. The County Clerk’s
Office is located in the basement and the hours of operation are Monday through
Friday, 8:00a.m. to 4:30p.m. See map at bottom of page.
The requirements are:
- Both parties must be present
- Both parties must have a valid state-issued picture ID or a certified copy of
their birth certificate as well as their social security numbers. - Both parties must be aged 18 or over, or have a parent or guardian present
to sign consent. (If either party is 14 years or older but under 18 years of age
a parent will have to sign the consent form. The parent will also need to bring
a drivers license or I.D. card for proper identification. If the natural parents
are divorced, the parent given custody must give the written consent. The
parent will need to bring the custody papers and proper identification.) - License is not valid for 72 hours after issuance and expires 30 days from date
of issuance - No blood test is necessary at this time.
- Cost of license is $67.00 (Cash Only)
- If under 18 year of age, parental consent, per signature fee is $1 in addition to
license. - In the state of Texas, there is a 30 day waiting period after a divorce is final.
We can issue the license on the 31st day from the final date. If the applicants
are remarrying each other then it does not apply.
